Q.

My father aged 51 yrs K/C/O HTN tested positive for Covid on June 9th and ct value was 20.6 and that was the day of onset of symptom I e fever and treatment also started from same day. After a week his symptoms were still present and cough also started and HRCT score was 5/25 .Then doctor suggested favivir and corticosteroid.Even the cough hasn't reduced then doctor has started IV antibiotics then the symptoms had reduced on day 10 from testing positive. Tested Rt PCR on day 14 and it was positive and ct value was 26.8. Then the sugar medicines and the other oral antibiotics and antiviral are given for 10 days. Doctor hasn't suggested Rt pcr again said that there is no issue if 17 days are completed. But again on day 20 we have tested and the report shows still positive and the Ct value is 18.7. The whole treatment was given at home and the oxygen saturation is 97-98%. So is Rt pcr efficient and is anything to worry about the CT value in the test or HRCT is required?
