Q.

my elder son is 8 yr old and he is suffering from fever I am giving crocin 500 to him but still his fever is not coming down infact it get increased..it reaches up-to 101 and above then I have to give meftal. I am worried why craving is not working on him. Can I give meftal forte after 5-6 yrs?

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging withggy lukewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .

It would completely depend as to what is the correct dosage that you are giving you must be giving of syrup to the child right now and it is mostly given on the correct weight of the child at this is the medicine is somewhere around 10 to 12 or 13 ML if the child is somewhere around 20 to 25 kgs so check for the dosage that you are givingWrite Your Answer Here
