Fever is  when  the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which scan be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations.
cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .

include natural probiotics like fresh curd buttermilk etc in your child diet 
don't force feed or overfeed your child.

you can give calpol drops if temperature is 100f or above.
please offer plenty of fluids 
give Luke warm water with pinch of salt and Tulsi leaves in 2 tbsp quantity every 2 hours.
if there is no cold and cough , give sponge bath to reduce the temperature.
