2. Make mealtime fun and creative: Involve your daughter in food preparation and presentation to make it more appealing. Make funny shapes or faces with the food, involving her in the process can make her more likely to enjoy eating.
3. Schedule meal and snack times: Establish set meal times for every day and offer snacks if your daughter needs them. This can provide structure, keeping her hunger in check and improving her appetite.
4. Monitor portion sizes: It is essential to focus on providing smaller portions of nutrient-dense foods throughout the day. You can use smaller plates and bowls for meals and offer small, healthy snacks like cheese, nuts, and fruits in between meals.
5. Make drinking fluids between mealtimes: She may drink excessive fluids during the meal, which can make her feel full, you should avoid giving her water until after the meal.
6. Be a role model: Children often mimic their parents' behaviour, so model healthy eating by consuming a healthy and balanced diet yourself.
7. Consult a pediatrician or dietitian: If you are still having difficulty with your daughter's eating habits and weight gain, it's advisable to discuss your concerns with a pediatrician or registered dietitian. They can provide more specific recommendations and help identify any nutrient deficiencies.
Remember, it can take up to 10 to 15 exposures to a new food before a child decides to like it, so don't give up offering new foods. The more exposure they have, the more likely she may be to try it.
