Q.

My daughter is 9 months old and has cough and wheezing since last 5 days. Doctor gave her claribid 2ml, tixylix 2ml, coriminic oral 4 drops and nasal saline 1drop twicw a day. Today is 6th day, still she has cough. What shall I do further?

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examirenation. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
