add veggies, give fruit purees.
better to give more fruits, veggies ,instead of sweets as children don't have much likes and dislikes at this age.
so they accept variety of flavors.

as your child is 8 months old, you can offer variety of food items from different food groups like vegetables fruit pulses dairy products etc
so you can prepare food like sheera, rab, porridge, khichdi, soup etc
you can offer finger food like boiled potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, roasted paneer, variety of fruits etc to your child
but please prefer homemade healthy food.
