Q.

my daughter is 6 months old. my mother tongue is kannada, while my in laws speak a different language, I don't know the language completely. now I notice that she only responds more to that language and as I have to work most of the time while she's up, she spends most of the time with my MIL. please suggest how can I make her learn both languages

A. how should I communicate with my child until 5 or 6 years? I don't know their language. I speak kannada we live in Karnataka. my in laws speak Goan language

A. Child is only six months old I don’t know how much is your child speaking as of now how much words is your child picking up as of now because initially if you introduced too many languages the child gets confused so you can start with two languages were in normal course we say English and Hindi are the best to start with otherwise you should first go ahead with your mother-in-law’s native language because you guys have to stay there only so best the child learn the local language and English along with it and then slowly by the time the child turns about five or six years old then you can go ahead teaching your mother tongue
