Q.
My daughter is 4 years old .She is suffering from fever from 4 days.medicine was given as per doctor suggession.But fever is back after power of medicine is reduced.please suggest?

Author of questionMom of a 6 yr 11 m old girl3 years agoA. I have given sinarest paracetomol syrup for 3 days and 4 th day paracetomol+taxim antibiotic but fever is back again.so plz suggest which kind of fever it may be??

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .other medicine like mefenamic acid ibuprofen can also be given . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. hrv Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .
