Q.

My daughter is 4 months old. In these 4 months I never fed her after every 2 hours especially at night if she is sleeping (excluding 15 Days from birth). Sometimes it was like 4-5 hrs at a stretch at night. But her weight gain was slow. My feed was ‘feed on demand’. Is it because of this my baby didn’t gained weight much. After 4 months she is just 5.3 kgs. Her birth weight was 2.75kgs. Am I to be blamed for this and should I now start feeding her every 2 hours at night? I tried yesterday but then she started crying and didn’t took feed.

A. Term baby only. I feed her frequently during day time but do not disturb her during night sleep which is usually between 10:30 pm to say 3-3:30 am if the surrounding is favourable and there is no disturbance.
