my daughter is 3yrs and 2months she is having fever and cold and cough too today morning I gave her 5ml meftal syrup its okay or it is harmful. please reply what to do

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ havtric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptocms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

A. yes you can give, 6 months to 24 months: 5ml of infant paracetamol suspension, given up to four times a day. 2 years to 4 years: 7.5ml of infant paracetamol suspension, given up to four times a day.
