my daughter is 3.5 month old, she do proper latch and take breastfeed but since yesterday she is not latching and feeding herself via bottle. also, she is having congestion?? will she be starting back.?

A. Namaste Mom Well as you have mentioned that she is having congestion that is the reason she is not able to feed , please check with the dr is nebulization can be done , as that is quite helpful

A. “Yes, congestion can be the reason. At 3.5 months, babies may have difficulty latching or breastfeeding when their nose is blocked because they need to breathe through their nose while feeding. Try saline nasal drops and gentle suction before feeding, and offer breastfeeds frequently. Medicines can sometimes affect feeding, so give only medicines prescribed by her pediatrician. If she continues refusing feeds, has fewer wet diapers, fever, unusual sleepiness, or any breathing difficulty, please contact her pediatrician promptly.”

A. Teething and distraction can really be a very big reason where kids refuse to take the feed while they’re awake but the child is having congestion or not that I cannot tell you without a physical child properly try to feed the child in isolation by making it playful for the child takes the feed and if you’re unable to do so then consult your doctor
