My daughter is 2 years and 4 months old she weighs 11 kgs she has mild fever her current body temp is 98.6 dr has suggested sumol drops but how many ml of that should I give her

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remcedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also benheficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

A. Approximately 2.5 ML you can go ahead with giving one time and after six hours if you see that the temperature is rising or it’s still there rain you can repeat it again after six hours that is how you can go ahead with giving medicine for fever
