my daughter is 2.6 yrs old,she is active and eating adequate food. She is 11.5 kg. suddenly since night she has 102 fever, can I give calpol to her and which one & qty (120 mg or 250 mg) pls guide.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 7 m old boy1 Year agoA. syp pcm 250 4ml syp pcm 120 8ml for fever as well as pain kindly give paracetamol according to the weight of child as well as according to the power of paracetamol medicine you are having and paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day and also do body sponge to decrease the surface temperature. also when u take temperature in the armpit of the child and it is 100 or more then only consider it as fever and give paracetamol. higher medicines for fever like ibugesic and mefenamic has to be given only after medical consultation. after giving fever medicines you can wait for maximum 3 days and then meet your doctor if it is not improving. keep the child in cool atmosphere

About 3ML you can give to the child as of now and you can give either of the two whatever is available to you there is no problem in giving either of the medication is Just the power is different so 3ML would be sufficient if you go ahead with the previous version of the medicine that you have mentioned
