Q.
my daughter is 2.5 months old. she doesn't speak properly, only can say 'mamma', 'papa', & few other monosyllabic & bisyllabic words which have meaning. but if someone talks to her, she responds spontaneously & starts speaking in her own language which is not meaningful. so we can't understand at all what she is trying to say. please suggest what we should now. as a father I am very much worried when she will be able to speak properly.

ExpertDr Arti SharmaPaediatrician5 years agoA. Hi Does she understand what you speak? Does she maintain eye contact? Does she follow instructions? Does she speak 2-3 words? if doesnt then get her developmental assessment done Encourage her take opinion of Paediatrician once

That is perfectly fine not to worry.some babies speak early according to their environment n some speaks late even if having perfect environment like friend circle number of family members etc. don't worry she is learning to speak n talking her own language because she wants to talk but not having proper words like we have in a sentence. she will learn to make sentences. sometimes we try for months to make them speak but they learn within fifteen days too. so don't worry try to interact always n talk n play with her. she is growing well.
