Q.

my daughter is 2.10 yrs old she is having severe cough what can I do. I have given her salbutamol but non relief..

A. Cough is a protective reflex of the body to expel out the mucus or any irritant factor from the respiratory tract which is most of the time assosiated with cold due to any viral or bacterial iynfection . A proper examination is required to find the cause . As a home remedy you can start with steam inhalation . Cough can be treated with cough suppressant or antitussivyes as per the cause. For cold antihistamines are useful and nasal saline drops are also benifecial .

A. Currently I can only suggested a home remedy where in you can mix some ginger juice and honey together and this is what you can give to the child this is going to help in giving instant relief to the child but avoid giving water on top of that for at least 30 to 40 minutes
