Q.

My daughter is 17 months old and she continuously enters her two fingers into her mouth. please advise me on how I will change her habit.

A. Thumb sucking in infants is a very normal phenomenon and its called mouthing reflex and nothing to be worried about it just maintain proper hygiene and with time this thing will go . In the toddlers thumb sucking habit is also seen many a times which could be phycological cause and feeling of insecurity or some stress . Just try to make the child comfortable hyand divert in some activities also spend good time with the child . In extreme case withdrawhal can be tried with some solution available which are bitter like femite lotion . It needs to be applied locally .

A. Teething Happening with your child mostly keeping fingers into the mouth most of the time see you check the gums of your child Rather this way you’ll be more sure about it and also if you want you can put something better on to the finger of your child
