Q.

My daughter has severe cold from past week... cough also there... giving coldmine syrup but no improvement... kindly tell me what to do...

A. Most of the time cough cold, are viral in origin They may subside by 3 -9 days No need of any medication if mild. If cough and cold then need steam inhalation, nasal decongestant drops (nasivion baby nasal drops 1drop in each nostril 3 times a day for 3 days). And cough syrp or drops as per babys Cough condition (wet or dry). Keep ur baby well hydrated in cough cold episode Proper hand washing, keeping away ur baby from other infected persons, It will help. If decreased urine output, refusal to feed, decreased activity, breathing difficulty Then need consultation with nearest pediatrician.

A. You can give boil basil leaves and add honey , this can cure cold if it is due to viral..saline drops is best blocked nose as it has no side effect. But better to consult doctor to check whether it is viral infection or some other.

A. Saline drops do wonders to blocked nose, pour 2 to 3 drops. Allow the baby to inhale the eucalyptus oil.The oil can be also be sprinkled in the baby beddings. ensure that the baby is taking more of liquids/water Heat coconut oil and add little powdered camphor in it. After it has cooled, pour 4 to 5 drops to your palm and apply very little evenly over the chest of your baby.
