Q.

my daughter had cough and cold I consult a doctor he said cough is there in chest so he gives iv injection in 5 days it will help to reduce the cough

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce tdshe fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. good morning I would request you to take an opinion from one more doctor because injection is a little bit extreme only for cough and cold usually medicines are quite effective to be able to get rid of this
