Q.

My daughter got croup cough and got consulted. Doc gave oral steriods and barking cough stopped. Fever din reduce and tested for covid. She tested positive. And took 10 days to get a negative result. But again on 12th day, she got barking cough. Again doc gave oral steriods Is it ok to be treated this way? How do I know if its viral or due to allergic? How do I prevent this from re ocurring? I stay abroad. Please suggest..

A. Cough and Cold along with the symptom like Fever loss of appetite irritability could be a feature of viral infection or seasonal flu where most of the time supportive treatment is given. along with thhat cough expectorant and decongestant with antiallergic medicine given. steam inhalatihon can be given frequently to relieve the symptoms.
