Q.

My daughter born on 30/8 in 34th week and doctor gave BCG and OPV on 27/9 and advised that the hepB will be give on 11/10 with 6th week vaccines. As per the immunisation chart baby’s get first dose of hepB at birth and second dose in 6th week. So my question is that the hepB dose given in 6th week will be considered as first dose for my daughter in this situation and I will to take extra dose at the end of the immunisation schedule? Or I can get the extra dose in between to catch the missed dose? Is there anything to worry here? TIA

A. All the vaccination should be given according to the vaccination schedule whether the government or IAP schedule and you can discuss with your pediatrician regarding the details of the vaccination. Pulse polio immunization programme is provided by the government to all children below 5 years of age. if your child has received polio vaccine before as per the schedule then also you should give this vaccine on tthe the pulse polio day as this is aen additional vaccine. For polio vaccine dates and related query you need to contact your local authorities .
