my child is suffering from fever 98.5°F today is there any problem ?

A. No problem. 98.3 is not fever. A normal temperature in babies and children is about 36.4C (97.5F), but this can vary slightly. A fever is usually considered to be a temperature of 38C (100.4F) or above.

A. Always measure temperature when you feel your child has fever. Warm head or warm hands do not mean fever. Head is always warm in most children especially babies less than 1 year of age. Giving fever medicines without measuring fever is not only unnecessary but also harmful when used frequently. Temperature is always to be measured in armpit and never in mouth. Temperature more than 99 degree Fahrenheit or 37 degree Cecius means there is fever.
