A. A dry cough in children is usually caused by a viral infection, allergies, dry air, or irritation in the throat. Here are some remedies and treatments you can try: Home Remedies Steam Inhalation – Let your child inhale steam (supervised) to loosen mucus and soothe the throat. Warm Fluids – Offer warm water, soups, or herbal teas (like honey and ginger tea for kids above 1 year). Honey – If your child is above 1 year, give a teaspoon of honey to soothe the throat. Turmeric Milk – Warm milk with a pinch of turmeric can help with cough relief. Humidifier – Use a humidifier in the room to add moisture to the air, especially at night. Saltwater Gargle – If your child is old enough, gargling with warm salt water can reduce throat irritation. When to See a Doctor If the cough lasts more than 10 days. If there is fever, wheezing, difficulty breathing, or persistent night coughing. If the child has chest pain or is too weak. Let me know if your child has any other symptoms!
