Q.

My child is having frequent gastric problems (colic) due to which on some days he is having difficulty in sleeping at night. What could be the reason for it? What medicine do you prescribe for it? He will be 1 year old in another two weeks.

A. Colic in babies is a very common issue and it's matter of concern for parents as the baby is extremely irritable and inconsolable by most of the means. Exclusive breastfeeding with a proper bupring and keeping the bajiiby in an upright position will be helpful. Antiflatulence medicine like semithicone , probiotics and enzyme preparations may be helpful. Maternal lifestyle and dietary habbits are also contributory and important.
