Q.

My child is 1yr 6 months old.She is having constipation and straining very hard while passing stools.Frequency once in 5-6 days.What to give?

A. Constipation in Babies less than 6 months is very common and more in formula fed babies. you can give bonnisan drops and some enzyme preparations in proper dose suggested by doctor and cow's milk should be avoided before 1 year of ageConstipation is usually a very common problem seen in many where the most important causative factor is decrease intake fiber rich diet byalong with lesser fluid intake. some food like junk food mostly containing maida and oily food can aggravate such condition. here the diet modification should be tried first followed by medications like lactulose milk of magnesia and muout powder.

A. hello make sure to give water after every solids and also you should give bay fibre rich food in the diet and also include fruits especially banana and papaya which can help baby get releif from the constipation problem and makes the baby feel better and also comfortable too
