you have to just see for any environmental factor which is affecting the sleep like temperature variations as well as the child might be having some digestion problem or breathing difficulty due to nasal blockage has to be looked into.
if the growth of the child is proper do not worry much about the sleeping pattern of the child as it always improve with timed
you can increase the physical activity during the daytime as well as avoid more sleeping time during the day time and this will help in improving the night time sleeping time .

See when kids get used to sleeping in a certain pattern it’s like an addiction how you prefer sleeping with a pillow on the bed in a similar kind of posture that the same thing with kids also if you need to break this pattern then you’ll have to start feeding your child on the bed in the sleeping position or in the sitting position in your lap and then put your child to sleep slowly only the habit is going to break it will take some time but you just have to keep trying
