Q.

my boy is 10 month 20 days old.. he got fever for 2 dayscold and cough with phlegm for 3 days .....gave medicine paracetamol drops and cough drops and nasal saline drops still it's not going and he is in teething stage ... what to do

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectovvrant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

U Can continue with the medicine for maximum five days till if you see that it is not subsiding then you’ll have to go for further investigation to know as to what is wrong and accordingly the medication will be changed and also the teacher will come with the passing time only you cannot do anything about that so just let it be the same way
