my boy 8 yrs had allergic cough had treated with antihistamine now after 6 month he is having again dry cough continuously what should be given

I feel it is probably associated with some kind of an allergy which is why the cough is getting aggravated again now it would be good if you get an allergy test done for your child then you start with the treatment to subside this problem on a permanent basis
