my baby who is 4 months old has started pooping 3 to 4 times a day suddenly..initially she was doing it once daily. is this normal as the colour and consistency are both normal

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. frequently passing motions after meals is generally seen and is normal in children unless it is associated with some chronic infection like amoebiasis or may be indigestion or could be habitual also .so it needs proper assessment to rule out the cause, but if the smell,colour and consistency of the motion is more orless normal and there is no other problem like fever or vomiting you should not worry for now .iue you can give probiotic enterogermina probiotic 2 times a day and consult doctor for proper treatment if problem continues.

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. Expect at least 3 bowel movements per day, but may be up to 4-12 for some babies. After this, baby may only poop every few days. Baby will usually pass more stool after starting solids.
