Q.
My baby who is 2.4 years is having loose stools but as of now no fever can we give metronidazole for her to stop the loose motions , please suggest

Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydratiojhn is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucougs high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

Sunita MahatoMom of 2 children3 years agoA. to stop her motion you can give oral rehydration solution ORS to baby keep baby well hydrated increase the water intake apply coconut oil on tummy area and gently massage in circular motion
