The average amount of formula that babies take per feeding is: Newborn: 2-3 ounces (60-90 mL) per feeding. 1 month old: 4 ounces (120 mL) per feeding. 2 months old: 5 ounces (150 mL) per feeding.Even if you can only breastfeed for a short while, your baby will still benefit. But the longer you breastfeed, the longer your baby is protected. The Department of Health advises breastfeeding exclusively for the first six months.
