my baby sucks thumb too much

A. it is a self limiting behaviour of the child and usually with proper interval interruption the child will gradually remove the habit of finger insertion as well as thumb sucking and you have to just divert the child

A. Babies have natural rooting and sucking reflexes, which can cause them to put their thumbs or fingers into their mouths — sometimes even before birth. Because thumb sucking makes babies feel secure, some babies might eventually develop a habit of thumb sucking when they're in need of soothing or going to sleep.
