A. Spitting up is common in many infants, including one-month-old babies. It's often referred to as "posseting" and is generally normal. This happens because a baby's lower esophageal sphincter, the muscle that keeps the contents of the stomach from flowing back into the esophagus, is not fully developed in infants. Here are some tips to manage spitting up: Burp your baby frequently during feeds. Keep your baby upright for a little while after feeding. Use a gentle, slow-flow nipple on the bottle if you're bottle-feeding. Consider feeding in smaller, more frequent amounts.
