A. Hello dear parent, there is no problem in giving another vaccination in government hospital. But you should inform your doctor once before getting baby vaccinated. As if he would feel the need to stick to the same place where you got first vaccination done then better to follow that.

A. I am answering this question with reference to Indian Govt hospitals. Yes, the govt, hospitals are ‘safe’ to vaccinate your child, and you will save some money. But be informed that govt hospitals do not necessarily give the same set of vaccines you would have received in a private setup. For example: Private practitioners have recommended and given the Pneumococcal PCV-13 vaccine since the last 10 years, but it is still not given in govt hospitals. Another example is Rubella vaccine. Private practitioners have been giving rubella vaccine for more 30 years now. But its inclusion in the govt’s vaccination is comparatively recent. Lot of innocent lives have been spoilt by congenital rubella syndrome during these years. Since you are internet savvy, compare the immunization schedules given by Indian Academy of Practitioners(IAP) [vaccinations followed by private practitioners] and Govt. of India’s National Immunization Schedule. You can filter out which vaccines are not presently given by the Govt and take them from private practitioners.
