Q.

my baby's doc has asked to give phenegram for cold n cough. he has mention 2 ml or drip is not clear and he is not available in station. my baby is 6mnths old. pls confirm the dosage.

A. depends on patient weight avoid cold climate, cold winds. give plenty of feeds , adequate rest to the baby. indirect steam , hot water bath will also help. consult your paediatrician if baby is feeding less, excessively drowsy or if cold increases. post illness babies might be cranky , irritable. nose block congestion also result in loss of appetite, difficult sucking. try different head up feeding position. feed by spoon otherwise. Maintain hygiene. if bottle feeding, maintain sterility as its a common source of infections.
