Q.

My baby's Birth weight was 2.6 kg.When he was 2.5 month old he was 5.6 kg, now he is 3.5 month old but he gained only 100 gm in entire month.Can you tell me what should be the ideal growth rate??And what causes this sudden drop in growth rate.?

A. Hello Usually babies gain 300 to 500 gm every month during the initial 6 months Sometimes, the growth is rapid, sometimes slow So do not worry Keep feeding at regular intervals & only one side at a time for good weight gain
