A. that is umbilical hernia which is very common in children and will go away with increasing age and you will see that by six months to 1 year of age that totally go inside also that's straining and this type of sensation which is seen in the child is due to the gas present in the abdomen

A. my question not related to stool. i am asking about swollen umbilical cord...and straining all time not just stool time
Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy4 years ago
A. Stool- it is very common and normal for small children who are less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also also sometimes children will pass stool 7 or 8 times per day also and that is also normal and if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as colour of stool you will have to meet your doctor if the consistency is very watery and the child is uncomfortable or there is blood in the stool Also straining while passing urine and stool is normal...
