Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. it is totally normal for small children less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also.
it is also normal irf they are passing stool more than 6 or 7 times per day.
if the consistency of the stool is Semi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as the colour of the stool.
also straining while passing urine and stool is normal
Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. constipation in small babies is very common and is more with formula milk. Usually constipation of few days is considered as normal in babies below 6 months of age,you can give Himalaya bonnisan drops three times a day to your child for good digestion and give frequent feeding, usually medicines or suppositories are avoided in such a case .if baby is having gastric pain you can give collimax drops.if you need to give any enzyme preparation to your child you can consult doctor.give proper tummy time for about 15-20 mins and burping to avoid gastric trouble. In very small babies of 1 or 2 months of age it is very normal phone not to pass motion even for sevjseral days and on the contrary passing motion after every feed due to gastrocolic reflex is also considered as normal.
