A. If your 3-month-old baby hasn't passed urine for 5 hours, it could be a sign of dehydration or another issue. Generally, babies should urinate about 6-8 times a day, so if there's a significant decrease in the frequency of urination, it's worth paying attention to. Possible reasons for reduced urination in infants include: Dehydration: If your baby is not feeding well (breast milk or formula), this could lead to dehydration, causing fewer wet diapers. Illness or Fever: If your baby has been ill, has a fever, or is not feeding well, this could affect urination. Blocked Urinary Tract or Infection: Although rare, a urinary tract infection or blockage could prevent urination. If your baby seems to be in pain, is unusually fussy, or shows signs of discomfort, this could be a concern. If your baby is still not passing urine after 6 hours, or if there are any signs of distress (like a fever, irritability, or reduced feeding), it's essential to contact your pediatrician immediately for a proper evaluation. They may recommend a physical exam or further tests to determine the cause.
