But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out .
Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamfuic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful .
Doctor cxonsultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .

I think when a child is suffering with fever appetite automatically goes on the same was with your child so in this case you should definitely go ahead with giving really good amount of liquids to the child that really helps a lot in boosting up energy and strength
