Q.
my baby is having fever since 2day. her temperature is 100.5 . her highest temperature was 101.7 I check her oxymeter her oxygen level is 99 and heart rate is between 160/185 is it normal. I'm worried. what in normal heart for baby with fever.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeatfed after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine ougftput monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

RashmiMom of a 11 yr 2 m old girl2 years agoA. It’s above 120 so that’s fine but 185 is a little on the higher side during fever these things are normal but still Sanjeev and monitoring every thing and you finding them high of course I suggest you to talk to your doctor ones please for sure
