Q.

My baby is around 17 months.. she is getting cold and cough frequently lately. Coughing is going on for few days now. What needs to be done?

A. it is in diagnosis of allergic cough cold . here the child will have regular cough and cold which is usually not associated with fever . it increases and decreases but does not get cured completely. dr will give anti allergic medicine usually motelukast / levocetirizine. if its still not improving the next line of treatment will be inhaler xtherapy with mdi / nebulizer. allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ cold water intake / dust / smoke / pollens) , food , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweetx food also. body cannot sustain such allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evening /night and morning.

A. This could be due to some allergy reaction try to find out what is your child allergy to and if it is needed conduct an allergy test for the child ask your doctor which is going to be the best want to go ahead with an elaborate it was it and then only a treatment can be suggested
