Q.

My baby is almost 17 months old. He still has his soft spot which is palpating. I have heard and read that soft spot generally closes by 18 months. I am giving him all possible sources of calcium like milk paneer ragi etc and also vit D supplement. Kindly suggest is it a reason to worry about? There is still almost 1.5 fingers gap( the soft spot at birth was very large nearly 3.5 fingers.)

A. Hello dear mom Nothing to worry abd don’t panic as it will close between 18 to 20 months so have patience and continue giving calcium rich foods take care and stay safe

A. The soft spots are spaces between the bones of the skull where bone formation isn't complete. This allows the skull to be molded during birth. The smaller spot at the back usually closes by age 2 to 3 months.larger may take time
