Q.

my baby is 7 weeks old, I was supplementing formula milk with breastmilk as per suggestion of her doc as she only gained 250 gm in the first month. Now she has gained around 1 kg in 3 and half weeks. Can I go back to breastfeeding her exclusively? and what should be the normal weight gain per week to know if all is going well?

A. If Your child is gaining good weight with formula feeding then you continue with that see when the breastfeeding is not sufficient which is when you should give formula feeding but if you know that you’re breastfeeding sufficient for healthy weight gain then continue with exclusive breastfeeding for the child and without knowing the birth weight of your child I will not be able to tell you the way that your child should have now
