Q.

My baby is 50 days old , he got his first vaccine on 13 April . Today’s 3rd day and still he is having fever . The whole night he had fever after giving PCM drops also. Is it normal to have fever on third day?

A. yes when fever and pain comes after vaccination you can give paracetamol to the child for fever as well as pain. paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day. you can also apply ice over the injection site. if there is local swelling you can apply ice as well as thrombophob gel. vaccine fever usuallyu subsides in max 2 to 3 days but if it continues beyond 3 days meet your dr to rule out any other causes of fever
