Q.

my baby is 5 months old, she is on formula feed. I have given her cows milk 3 times a day for 15 days , I saw blood in her stool , then I stopped giving cows milk. Now it's been 10 days and suddenly I saw blood in her stool ..is it due cow milk or any other reason???

A. A common cause of blood in an infant's stool is a slight anal tear (fissure) from baby straining with the passage of the stool. The small amount of blood from an anal fissure tends to look like a red streak on the outside of the stool. Another common cause of blood in the stools of infants is food allergies
