A. Giving your baby a bath 5-10 times in diluted bleached water can be very effective in fighting cases of extreme eczema. Mix 2 tbsps of bleach per gallon of water and soak the child in it. Make sure that he does not drink the water. Rinse it off properly to avoid the smell of bleach from sticking on. Or If there are any flare ups, cooling compressors can reduce the spread faster. Do not let your baby scratch the affected areas. Avoid wool or thicker material because they can raise the body temperature and be very uncomfortable. Dress the child in light clothes made of cotton. Always bathe your child in lukewarm or cold water as hot water dries the skin faster. After bathing, apply a moisturizer on the damp skin as it will get absorbed faster. In my elder daughter's case, Atogla lotion was of great help. But before using it, please consult with your doctor first.
