A. Since your baby is 5 months and 14 days old, it’s best to wait until 6 months to start solids, as per WHO and pediatric recommendations. However, if your baby shows signs of readiness (like sitting with support, good head control, and interest in food), you can gradually introduce simple purees. What to Start With? Begin with single-ingredient, easily digestible foods: Rice Cereal – Homemade rice porridge (without salt or sugar). Moong Dal Water – Light and easy to digest. Mashed Banana – Naturally sweet and nutritious. Steamed & Pureed Apple – Gentle on the tummy. Carrot or Pumpkin Puree – Soft, vitamin-rich vegetables. Ragi Porridge – Iron-rich and good for digestion. How to Introduce? Start with 1-2 teaspoons once a day. Maintain a gap of 3 days between new foods to check for allergies. Offer smooth purees (no lumps initially). Continue breastfeeding/formula as the main source of nutrition. Let me know if you need a detailed food chart!
