Q.

My baby is 5 month and 15 days old. From today I have started giving formula milk only once in a day. Because every time I take her for feeding she is not ready for taking feed. sometimes only for 5 mins she is taking feed and burps and enough. I feel she growing crawling so I should give something more which will give energy for her. So how many times should I give formula plus breastfeeding to her?

A. Babies are generally distracted at this age. Try nursing the baby in a dull boring room if possible. Do consider pumping breast milk and offered pumped milk. The feeding schedule of an infant depends on the child's hunger signals, as well as their age and weight. However, it's generally advised to continue breastfeeding your baby on demand for the first six months along with vitamin D supplement, with the baby consuming an average of 8 to 12 meals in 24 hours.
