my baby is 5 and half month ? he is now weighing 8.8 kg is it overweight? expert opinion

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist7 years agoA. all the weight for age is on the higher side baby is not overweight. also the weight for height should also be assessed. baby's rate of growth is also dependent upon parents body frame how they have been in their childhood. so follow the growth curve of baby with doctor to know the weight gain over the months. for healthy weight only exclusively breastfeed baby till 6 months complete do not introduce formula or bottle feed.

SantoMom of a 8 yr 11 m old girl7 years agoA. What is baby birth weight. In the initial 3 months, babies put on about 1 kg each month. From 3-6 months, weight gain reduces to 1/2 kg/month; from 6-9 months, it becomes 1/3, and for 9-12 months, it settles to 1/4 kg.
