Q.

my baby is 3 months old boy baby.he is crying a lot in the evenings and is not pooping regularly.he poops after 4-5 days and at times with help of suppository.what helps him to poop daily

A. straining while passing stool as well as urine is normal. the child is crying due to colic pain (due to gas) and not due to the reason that the child has not passed the stool. infants may not pass stool for 10 days also and if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid it is not constipation. you can consider constipation only if it is hard and dry stools.e you can give anticolic medicines and meet your doctor. burping / upright position for 20 minutes will help in decreasing the gas and future colic pain d

A. Hello dear parent! Exclusively breastfed babies might not be passing stools even for a week. Not to worry as long as your baby is active and not showing any discomfort symptoms. I suggest you to keep Woodwards handy just in case your child has colic issues. Consult your child’s doctor for advice
